Contact an employment agency if you are looking for a job in the Czech Republic. The situation concerning purchase of real property by foreigners was changed and was also simplified on accession of the Czech Republic to the EU from 01 May 2004. All a private individual, a citizen of an EU state (and also any citizen of the SR) requires is permanent or temporary residence in the Czech Republic for at least 3 months and he can acquire real property here (apart from agricultural and forest land, to which stricter rules apply).

According to valid Czech Republic legislation if a foreigner wishes to marry in the Czech Republic he is required to append the following documents to the marriage application: valid passport, birth certificate, and certificate of legal capacity for marriage which must include: name and surname, date and place of birth, permanent address, citizenship and marital status (divorced spouses must also submit a divorce certificate and widowed individuals must submit the death certificate of the deceased spouse). If the foreign citizen does not speak Czech, he is required to request a court interpreter be present during the marriage ceremony. If an offender is under 14 years of age, he is not criminally liable. Mopeds and small motorcycles with a maximum speed of 45 km/h can be driven by individuals over 15. Light motorcycles with a cylinder volume up to 125 cc and an output not exceeding 11 kW can be driven by individuals over 16. Other motorised vehicles can be driven by individuals over 18. Drivers are not allowed to drink any alcohol at all when driving in the Czech Republic . Alcohol consumption is permitted from 18 years of age.
If you lose a passport issued in your country you, as a foreign citizen, are required to immediately notify the police station nearest the site of this loss, of the event. The police will write up a protocol of the loss. You must also inform your embassy, which will issue a temporary travel document on the basis of the protocol written up with the local police.
